Surpass the 31-character limit

Since the new update (which I like), I used to be able to surpass the 31-character limit. Theres a Snapchat hack for it which everyone uses. Now, for some reason it doesnt work. Is this because of the new update? This feature/hack was so convenient to be able to express yourself in more than 31 words!
